Design Professional Marketing: the Do’s and Don’ts from RFPs to Project Completion
Whether a design professional is tweeting project photos or disclosing project details in an RFP – marketing comes with hidden risks. To manage these risks, design professionals need to understand how contracts, intellectual property ownership and licensing rights may affect their marketing activities.
Licensed architect and attorney Sue Yoakum and registered patent attorney Michael Gu will combine their knowledge to outline the exposures design professionals typically face in promoting their projects and expertise. This program will offer design professionals a detailed look into potential marketing activity issues such as:
- Responding to Request for Proposals – the do’s and don’ts;
- Intellectual property ownership and licensing including: TM, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, and other confidential information;
- Standard of Care statements v. puffery; and
- Owner risk transfer.
Join us for this timely discussion for design professionals of all firm sizes and have your questions answered. This program will be held at the Boston Harbor Hotel on Thursday, March 16.
